The New High-Def Flash Memory Camcorder

Panasonic HDC-TM20K High-Def Flash Memory Camcorder with 16GB Internal Memory and 8GB Memory Card (Black) purchased at Amazon.
I am going to try try collect my learning experiences here with this new equipment as I progress.
When I was deciding about "What video camera to purchase?" there were some very basic issues I felt needed to be covered:

  • Must record in High Definition. (Remember you will also need the software and good PC to handle this.)
  • Cost around $500 or less. (Remember that buying camera accessories can also add up to quite a bit of money.)
  • Must have adequate Zoom.
  • Must record to a SDHC Card. (see "What is an SDHC Card?")
    • Faster editing.
    • Easier transfer to our PC.
    • No more winding and rewinding tapes.
    • No more "Playback" just to capture to a PC.

This video camera has easily accomplished those things and much more.

Bought a non OEM Battery. The Battery is to be charged only with included charger; however, that is perfect because the charger that comes with my camera cannot both charge a battery and run the camera at the same time. Adapter for recharge pluggable to lighter socket in your vehicle also included. Does not display battery life on my camera, but it outlast my memory cards anyway.
